Separating Daydreaming From Visualization

Visualization inspires Daydreaming dissipates

Imagination is a phenomenal thing, it’s the light that illuminates our thoughts and brings us into new areas and enhances our experiences. I miss the days as a kid growing up in Minnesota where we used our imagination for everything.

When I was young, my mom would hand me a string of paper dolls and I would spend hours playing with them. Now a days it’s a bit tougher to tap into the imagination with the increasing popularity of virtual reality, cell phones and video games which seems to have stunted our imagination. You may have noticed that kids become bored much easier these days.  Exercising our mental muscles on a daily basis, are as important as exercising our physical ones. As we work the mental muscles each day by using our imagination and visualizing the life we want to create, it expands larger and brings us closer to it. Using visualization on a regular basis increases our intent and action to see it come true. However, a lot of people get caught up in daydreaming as opposed to actual visualization, so it’s important for you to know the difference between them, as they are two entirely different things.

Day dreaming is how we spend a lot of our time as kids, because our minds have not matured enough for us to know what we want to do when we grow up. We also don’t care about our futures at that age, we are too busy experiencing all of the cool things in our heads that we could be right then, like Captain America, Wonder Woman or the cool neighbor that has a motorcycle next door. Everything we see as kids leaves an impression on us, so we day dream about what it would be like to be that person or be in that situation, without thinking about or even caring that it most likely won’t happen. Once we become adults however, our lives start to take shape and we begin to seriously think about what our goals are and where we want to go and what we want to be. As adults if we spend too much time daydreaming it dissipates mental creativity and your mental muscles began to go soft until they are no longer working at full capacity. Day dreaming is a waste of energy. When a person day dreams, their thoughts are lazy and drift around aimlessly in their head with no real intention or action in mind to see it through. This is why it’s a huge waste of time and nothing productive comes from it. This does not mean you can’t entertain different thoughts of creativity when you’re not sure where you are going, because your intention is for something to come from the brainstorming, so that is NOT a waste of time. It’s the intention behind it that counts. With imagination you are creating and visualizing together with a goal and strong intention in mind. Visualization, inspires action for results, but daydreaming dissipates any real intention to get there.

If we didn’t have Universal Law, the entire universe would be in chaos instead of harmony. The alignment of planets, the stars, the moon and the sun are there by design. The design is quite perfect when you think about it and we are a part of that perfect alignment and design. We are free to think what we want, which is why we have a brain and conscious to make our own decisions, however, these thoughts are still governed by Universal Law. So you can choose to think HOW you want and WHAT you want, but Universal Attraction laws will dictate the outcome, based on your choice of thoughts and feelings. I am not telling you this to make you paranoid, it’s to inspire you, so you realize you have more control over things in your life.

When I read The Master Key for the first time, I felt so inspired and everything I wanted to do, suddenly seemed very possible, instead of just being a pipe dream. Unfortunately not everyone shares my views on that and I found that some people want to stay ignorant, because they have gotten used to their flat lining life, as that’s all they’ve ever known and where their comfort zone is. “Flatlining” meaning they are not in charge of their energetic aura at all, they leave it up to chance and take life as it is doled out to them. Flatlining as in not putting out positive or negative intention, they are just floating along with no direction.  Once I gave a copy of a book about the Laws of Attraction to a friend and she sort of panicked and said it made her paranoid about what she was thinking. Well this person didn’t want change in her life, not even in the areas where she needed it. She had gotten used to the way things were and that is what we call “staying married to our problems”.  Learning about The Master Key System made me more aware of things, so I could have a better life and it made me pay attention, to how I feel. It is not set in stone if you screw up and have a negative or unproductive thought from time to time, you can easily switch this off and then back on again and think productively and positively just as quickly as you can think UNproductively and negatively. You are not doomed for being human, but isn’t it great to know that you don’t have to accept things the way they are, just because your surrounding conditions make you think you have to stay there?

In society we describe things as good and evil, but these are words that man created to describe human actions and thoughts and in some way they were created to let people off the hook and not take responsibility for their actions. Evil is a negative action or event that has taken place. The word good, describes a positive thing that has taken place.  They are both an effect from either a positive or negative rooted cause. Constructive positive and harmonious thoughts obviously cause the law to be positive, the opposite of that causes the law to create negative conditions. No one is being punished because they didn’t go to church on Sunday, or didn’t eat their vegetables or stole a cookie from the cookie jar. The Universal law doesn’t operate on judgement of you, it simply responds to energy that it receives from you. There is only one Universal Power, there is not two of them, where one side represents good and the other represents evil. It’s the same power that brings you both and how it reacts depends on if people are in compliance with the law or not in compliance with the law. And a person’s perspective on things and vibrational energy decides, which way the laws of attraction will go.

Now that you know you hold the power in your ability to think and collaborate with Universal power and the differences in using visualization and imagination versus daydreaming, you will start to see things happening around you in your favor you never thought possible. Be sure and watch for them, they are your proof that Universal Law exists.

I was born and raised mostly in Minnesota, the youngest of 5 girls. I never went onto college as my sisters did, because the only two things I had ever wanted to do was work with horses or pursue music and I figured I would not need a conventional education for either of those. I chose to pursue a career in horse training three days after graduating from high school and did this for many years. Horribly misguided by others I met along the way, I eventually became disillusioned with the horse industry and it's lack of respect for the horses, so I moved on from that and I never looked back. I then went into music, which was my second love and was an aspiring singer/songwriter part time for another 10 years while I worked administrative jobs on the side. This also went to the wayside when it did not take me where I wanted to go. These days I am married and currently live in Colorado with my husband, two dogs and a horse. In looking back on my life I could never understand why I would get so close to reaching my dreams and goals, but then watch them slip away as easily as they had come. As a young horse trainer starting out, I had two very good opportunities to work for a woman who was former world champion rodeo star and also for a close relative of another rodeo star, who had been a world champion many times over. I rejected both of these opportunities early on, but with great regret later, because my head was not in the right place to accept them. Even though I had manifested both opportunities during that time and without realizing what I was doing, was unable to keep them. The same thing happened in the music industry. I had the experience of recording demos in both Austin Texas and Nashville at separate times, and I was given the opportunity to be represented by a few producers in Nashville as well, both eventually going nowhere. These hit and miss opportunities that never really got off the ground, soon became an up and down journey that I went through for several years, until I started studying Universal laws of manifestation. Early on, the first book my cousin had handed me about negative and positive attraction was indeed inspiring, but telling someone to simply think positively is not going to leave a lasting impression, so I fell back into my old ways of finding opportunity and losing opportunity. Years later, I eventually moved onto another book and things went a little deeper, but I was still not quite “getting it” because I had so many questions and felt things were missing in the authors explanation of how this all works. I eventually found The Master Key System written by Charles Haanel and that's when things really came together for me. His explanation of why Universal and Natural Laws of Attraction work by bringing science and spirituality together, instead of separating them as we have been taught, really made a lot of sense to me. All of my questions were answered and the holes were filled in. It was the connection of science and spirituality that made this book a little different than the others. Nothing I had read, had gone quite that deep before. I started to use The Master Key System and saw that opportunities were coming to me a lot more easily than in the past and I was able to keep them. In using these principles, I launched my first successful small business when I was well into my 40’s, as an equine massage therapist and at a time when I thought that I was going to be stuck working mindless admin jobs for the rest of my life. It was amazing how it brought me full circle into working with horses again. I have continued to use The Master Key Principles for every part of my life, both physically and mentally. I am a lifetime, work in progress student and a true believer of these wonderful methods.
