Customize Your Happiness

Use bright colors to customize the details of your lifeWhen we don’t know what we want in life, then simply wanting to be happy should be at the forefront of our thoughts and focus. Just ask Pharrell Williams, he will tell you all about it. By focusing on happiness, everything that we need to be happy will come along, at just the right time and in just the right way, because the Universe always has our back. Universal Law knows what makes us happy, even when we don’t, because it’s tapping into our subconscious mind and reading our hidden feelings about what we really want, though on the surface we say something different. Feelings don’t lie, it’s impossible for them to, so in the end it’s your feelings that tell the truth about what you are seeking. There have been times when I thought, if only this or only that would happen, I would be happy. I thought I knew what I needed to make me a happier person, but often times I needed something quite different than what I was thinking or saying out loud to myself or to other people. Thankfully the Universe knew and it brought the right thing.

A friend of mine has been working towards getting chosen to be on a sports reality TV show this past year. He has worked very hard towards the goal both physically and mentally after beating a serious illness. From a dedication point of view, he should have been chosen for all of the hard work and personal progress that had been made, but he has been passed up more than once, much to his disappointment. He asked me recently why I thought this was happening since it was so important to him and he had thought about and worked towards nothing else this past year. He had allowed one thing that he had no control over, to dictate his happiness. When we give that power away to someone else, we are no longer in control of our destiny, the outcome of the other thing or person is. Subconsciously he had lost the battle before it had even begun, because of the deep rooted feelings of where his ambition was coming from, deep inside of his subconscious mind. His need or want to get on this show was coming from a place of a lack of self-worth and desperation to be someone known. He felt that his family could not be proud of him, unless he was selected to perform on this particular TV show or unless he became famous. So his very ambition and reason for wanting to get on there, was coming from a place of need, a place of lack and a place of fear. These three things don’t mix well and when we identify this problem when it is happening, we should switch our focus to being happy and being happy as our ultimate goal.

As I mentioned above, when happiness becomes the goal, whatever is required to make you happy will come, it has to… when your focus and desire is asking for it. If you require financial stability to be happy, then more financial stability will come, if you require recognition for your work to be happy, then that will come as well. Whatever it is that would help you achieve happiness, becomes part of the bigger picture of your life, so don’t limit the possibilities of what can make you happy by weighing it all on just one thing. Customize your happiness with unlimited color. All you have to do is recognize the things that make you feel good, so you can choose your colors accordingly. A little brown, a little blue or a little red, using these many colors would draw a much more interesting and fulfilling picture than if the whole picture was done in just green.

There is no right or wrong in what makes a person happy. Some want fame, some want fortune, some want family, some want a career, some people want all of the above. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting any or all of these things, as long as you decide that you will be happy no matter what, and that includes not having these things. It sounds like a catch 22, but making happiness the focus and story of your life rather than trying to dictate the details that will bring your happiness to you is where people get mixed up. When you decide that only certain things can make your life better, then you limit what synchronicity and Universal Law can create for you. Think of it this way, if you go to a restaurant and decide the only thing you can have to eat that day is fried chicken or you will not be satisfied, then you are in for a real disappointment, if they don’t have fried chicken on the menu. You may leave that restaurant hungry, instead of trying something else scrumptious that is on the menu that may satisfy you just as much as the fried chicken would have.

As we pay attention in our day to day lives to the smallest details of what brings us a good feeling, or makes our day or a moment a good one, we are slowly creating the details of the happy life we want to have. We are building the life we want brick by brick until it becomes a solid house. Anything that you enjoy or brings you a good feeling is important, because these small details start to shape up into something much bigger and they help us to learn what it is we are looking for. Universal Law is paying attention to these details and it’s creating for you as you feel them and live them. It will reveal the manifestation you have created, when the process is finished and an event or opportunity is ready to be presented to you. If you think of it in this way, it will help you to keep feeling good, to not lose faith. I like to get my mind set in such a place, that when I am confused about which way to go with my life, I imagine the blueprint being created as I keep track and focus on all of the little great details and fuzzy feelings I get from things that bring me enjoyment. I tell myself, it’s creating right now and soon I will know what it is. This kind of confident thinking also makes things manifest even faster.

So where does this leave you and I? In the pursuit of happiness, that’s where. But don’t go it alone, trust in Universal Law to guide you there, because it knows the best path.

I was born and raised mostly in Minnesota, the youngest of 5 girls. I never went onto college as my sisters did, because the only two things I had ever wanted to do was work with horses or pursue music and I figured I would not need a conventional education for either of those. I chose to pursue a career in horse training three days after graduating from high school and did this for many years. Horribly misguided by others I met along the way, I eventually became disillusioned with the horse industry and it's lack of respect for the horses, so I moved on from that and I never looked back. I then went into music, which was my second love and was an aspiring singer/songwriter part time for another 10 years while I worked administrative jobs on the side. This also went to the wayside when it did not take me where I wanted to go. These days I am married and currently live in Colorado with my husband, two dogs and a horse. In looking back on my life I could never understand why I would get so close to reaching my dreams and goals, but then watch them slip away as easily as they had come. As a young horse trainer starting out, I had two very good opportunities to work for a woman who was former world champion rodeo star and also for a close relative of another rodeo star, who had been a world champion many times over. I rejected both of these opportunities early on, but with great regret later, because my head was not in the right place to accept them. Even though I had manifested both opportunities during that time and without realizing what I was doing, was unable to keep them. The same thing happened in the music industry. I had the experience of recording demos in both Austin Texas and Nashville at separate times, and I was given the opportunity to be represented by a few producers in Nashville as well, both eventually going nowhere. These hit and miss opportunities that never really got off the ground, soon became an up and down journey that I went through for several years, until I started studying Universal laws of manifestation. Early on, the first book my cousin had handed me about negative and positive attraction was indeed inspiring, but telling someone to simply think positively is not going to leave a lasting impression, so I fell back into my old ways of finding opportunity and losing opportunity. Years later, I eventually moved onto another book and things went a little deeper, but I was still not quite “getting it” because I had so many questions and felt things were missing in the authors explanation of how this all works. I eventually found The Master Key System written by Charles Haanel and that's when things really came together for me. His explanation of why Universal and Natural Laws of Attraction work by bringing science and spirituality together, instead of separating them as we have been taught, really made a lot of sense to me. All of my questions were answered and the holes were filled in. It was the connection of science and spirituality that made this book a little different than the others. Nothing I had read, had gone quite that deep before. I started to use The Master Key System and saw that opportunities were coming to me a lot more easily than in the past and I was able to keep them. In using these principles, I launched my first successful small business when I was well into my 40’s, as an equine massage therapist and at a time when I thought that I was going to be stuck working mindless admin jobs for the rest of my life. It was amazing how it brought me full circle into working with horses again. I have continued to use The Master Key Principles for every part of my life, both physically and mentally. I am a lifetime, work in progress student and a true believer of these wonderful methods.
